A series of posters printed with the fragmented
text in sub or di nation were pinned up in
different contexts in New York City. The fragmentation of
the word generates the possibility of different readings,
some of them totally contradictory: in subordination
and insubordination have opposite meanings that
are present simultaneously in the poster. This
contradiction occurs in many acts of dissidence, where our
uprisings are always in a process of negotiation with the
official narratives of order and control.
