§240.15 | 2018
§240.15 is a multi-screen video
installation that presents texts of the legislation of the
State of New York used to define radical forms of
dissidence: riot, inciting to riot, unlawful assembly,
criminal anarchy, and disorderly conduct. The texts are
presented using a clear advertising aesthetic on colorful
screens that change very fast making the text difficult to
read. The words are interrupted by the synchronized
appearance on all the screens of highly stylized images of
riots and police control that were taken in Bogota in
demonstrations against the imposition of new local
legislation based on the implementation of international
economic treaties. §240.15 questions the real
possibility of creating local legislation to prioritise
local issues in the current globalized context.
